US Tradeswomen Building Bridges delegation coming soon!

A Delegation of Tradeswomen is on its way to London from the USA in June 2022 to support the community struggle to create liveable, sustainable and affordable housing and the construction of a Women’s Building on the site of the former Holloway Prison and advocating for greater participation by women in the trades in the UK. The delegation is partnered with the University of Westminster.

Events will include a community picnic and info fair in Cally Park on Sunday 12th June from 12-4pm. Don’t miss this chance to meet inspirational tradesmen and hear about exciting careers in green construction.

There will also be a series of seminars and workshops. More details coming soon!

Tradeswomen Building Bridges has worked with the Community Plan for Holloway and Islington Council to create fantastic opportunities for careers in green construction for girls and women. Currently women make up only 1-2% of construction and trades workers in the UK and we want to change that together.

Tradeswomen Building Bridges’ mission is to build a global network of tradeswomen advocating for themselves.  TBB is working to create regional tradeswomen’s networks and promote greater international solidarity among women working in construction across the globe.

More about Tradeswomen Building Bridges

We are committed to building a global network of women working in construction. As the construction industry has become global, women who work in the industry need their own global platform to have their voices heard. Although working conditions for women vary widely, exploitation of women and ineffective government intervention are constants in the global construction sector. This London delegation is the third official delegation for TBB.
