The Islington Tribune has reported on the recent community festival day organised outside Holloway prison earlier this month.
‘Campaigners gathered at Holloway prison on Saturday to call for the site to be put to use for the community, not luxury flats’
The building is currently being advertised for sale by the Ministry of Justice’s (MOJ) agents, GVA Bilfinger. The MOJ want maximum profit from the site and are pushing for more than 1,000 flats, with no mention of community facilities or a women’s building, as proposed in Islington Council’s draft planning guidance.
