Islington Kill the Housing Act are organising a community festival to take place outside the entrance of the former Holloway prison site from 1pm on Saturday 21st October.
Holloway prison is currently being advertised for sale by the Ministry of Justice’s agents, GVA Bilfinger. The Ministry of Justice want maximum profit from the site and are pushing for more than 1,000 flats with no mention of community facilities or a women’s buildings proposed in Islington Council’s draft planning guidance.
Community Plan for Holloway has received more than 930 responses from local residents and community groups. Affordable housing, public open spaces, play spaces, community facilities and a women’s building have been identified as key priorities for the community. Join us on Saturday 21st to find out more.
